Most recently his romantic comedy script “Quizzical Attraction” was developed through BFI Film Hub Midlands’ ‘Stories to Shorts’ scheme. In 2025 his sci-fi comedy script “Time Slot” was in the Top 3 shortlist for the Reel Brum ‘Mummy’s Funny Brummies’ production fund, supported by Joe Lycett. He was previously shortlisted for The Pitch Film Fund 2022 with his comedy pitch “A Nice Walk.”

 

David’s short films have been funded and broadcast by the BBC, screened at BAFTA and nominated for Royal Television Society Midlands awards. He has been selected for development programmes and talent labs by Birmingham REP, Directors UK and London Screenwriters Festival, and he is currently developing several genre short and feature scripts.

 

David also has a visual arts background. His moving image artwork has exhibited at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Selfridges department stores and Leicester Print Workshop among others, as well as been commissioned by CBRE and shortlisted for Royal College of Art commissions.
